Kathie joined the ASLIS team in June 2018. While raised and educated in St. Paul, she was swept away to the Badger state to hone her interpreting skills. After 23 years of working primarily in K-12 Education, and the prodding of many Deaf friends and colleagues, she decided to pursue serving the larger Deaf community as a freelance interpreter. She brings experience as a staff interpreter, mentor, performance interpreter, among many other hats an educational interpreter wears. She is thrilled to be back in the Cities, though she still bleeds green and gold. When not interpreting, Kathie is hanging with her husband (Karl), two children (Claire and Henry), along with family and friends nearby. She enjoys dance fitness, watching funny animal videos, helping others with health and wellness, exploring areas of Minnesota she's been away from and just connecting with people.
