Mentoring Specialty Areas: English-to-ASL and ASL Language Model

Bree Logan is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in International Area and Studies. Bree has served on Oklahoma Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (OKRID) as Member at Large and Vice President. Also, she is a former Miss Deaf Oklahoma, Miss Deaf Oklahoma Director, and continues utilizing these platforms to provide workshops, trainings, and advocate for the Deaf community through a variety of avenues. Bree currently is a Deaf Community Interpreter with Sorenson and does freelance/contract work with Sign Language Resource Services, Inc. (SLRS). During her leisure time, she invests in being outdoors at the lake and going on adventures, watching sports, and reading books.
She has been a mentor in both deaf and interpreting communities for nine years. As a mentor, she seeks to provide tools to improve interpreters’ skills on their ASL sentence structure and both English to ASL and English to ASL. Mentees will focus on their use of space by painting the pictures based on their facial expressions and role-shifting to establish concepts for ASL production. She will work with mentees to improve their receptive skills and expand their vocabulary selection to provide accurate messages.
