Event Details

Earn 0.2 CEUs by completing this Independent Study. Interpreting mentors in the field are essential. This Independent Study will allow you to explore perspectives on mentoring and consider the positive and negative impacts of mentoring. Read “It Takes a Village to Raise a Sign Language Interpreter” by Brian Morrison and watch “Mastery in Mentoring: Lifelong Learning” Contributors Betty Colonomos and Kelly Decker. You will be required to write a 3-page minimum paper. Questions are provided.

Educational Objectives

1) Compare the pros and cons for mentoring from both the mentor and mentee perspectives.

2) Self-analyze my feelings on mentoring and challenge myself to think from other perspectives.

3) Find mentoring opportunities ASLIS offers and consider other possible resources for mentoring opportunities.
