Event Details

This Independent Study will provide you with a chance to explore the ADA, communication facilitator roles, and local organizations in your area that provide support services for employees with disabilities.

Earn 0.1 CEUs by completing this Independent Study. You will be asked to watch 2 short videos about the ADA and requesting interpreters. Then you will answer some questions about each video/topic, look into other communication facilitator roles (other than an ASL interpreter), and learn about local organizations in your area that support services for employees with disabilities. You will write a 2-page minimum paper about those prompts.

Educational Objectives

1) Find what resources are available for employees with disabilities.

2) Analyze Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act and how it impacts my role as an interpreter.

3) List some local organizations in my area that provide support for employees with disabilities.
