Sports can have a strong impact, both positively and negatively, on youth. In this Independent Study you will take a glimpse into what those impacts can be on Deaf youth.

Earn 0.1 CEUs by completing this Independent Study. Read 2 articles about Deaf youth in sports and the impact sports can have on their lives. You will be required to write a 2-page minimum paper. Questions are provided.

Educational Objectives

1) List ways that sports impacts deaf youth athletes.

2) Define ways that Deaf athletes can communicate with hearing teammates outside of an interpreter.

3) Analyze how my decisions will impact the coach, team, and deaf athlete.
