Education 2 Excellence (E2E) is starting a new semester!
Noon – 1PM: Lunch, introductions, socialize, and talk about E2E
1 – 3PM: Albert’s main presentation (earn CEUs)
3 – 3:15PM: break
3:15 – 4:30PM: Albert’s gives advice on “How to Mentor”
4:30 – 5PM: wrap up and complete paperwork
Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI), Albert Walla, will be teaching on how to maximize your mentoring sessions. The event will be filled with fun and engaging activities as well as resources to help you become a better mentor or mentee.

A certified teacher since 1976, Albert Walla currently teaches American Sign Language at the University of Minnesota and in the World Language Department at Eden Prairie High School. With 30 years of experience as a Deaf interpreter, Albert also serves as a mentor to interpreters in several speciality settings, including theatrical, medical, and legal interpreting. He is now an officially Certificated Deaf Interpreter for a year and half.
When the Minnesota Department of Education implemented what is now known as the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI), Albert was selected as one of the original group of interviewers and raters. Every teacher wishing to work in the school system must undergo an interview and rating by this expert group of SLPI examiners.
Albert holds a bachelor’s degree from Gallaudet University and a master’s from New York University.
