Event Details

This Independent Study provides the opportunity to explore the accessibility of music to the Deaf community and how ASL interpreters can make live music accessible for Deaf concert-goers. You will watch 2 videos, read 1 article, and write a 2-page minimum paper. Questions are provided.

Educational Objectives:

1) Identify how accessible music is to the Deaf community and consider the ramifications.

2) Experiment with different interpreting styles for live music interpreting and dissect which provides the most access for Deaf concert-goers.

3) Define my perspective of how important music is to society.
