Event Details
Join us for a discussion of various ideas and strategies for managing boundaries in challenging situations, ranging from basic needs, to more profound topics such as setting boundaries with challenging clients, work-life balance, managing safety, and keeping a healthy sense of self throughout.
Healthy boundaries benefit all involved, they are not a pedestal, but rather a safety zone for both us and our consumers, both hearing and Deaf. This workshop is not a one size fits all approach, but an opportunity to look at some very real challenges my colleagues and I face on a daily basis out in the field from a variety of perspectives.
Educational Objectives:
By the end of this presentation, ASL interpreters will be able to:
- Identify some of the common challenges to setting healthy boundaries
- discuss practical strategies for setting
- communicating healthy boundaries.
